Mediated Domesticity

Exhibited as part of the 2024 Getty PST, the installation combines several streaming cameras with multiple AI agents running in real-time to explore the experiential potentials of AI embedded surfaces within residential spaces. The AI dynamically modulates the "wallpaper" based on the movement of the viewer, while simultaneously providing flirtatious compliments specific to each user's appearance.

Control

2016 installation in the SCI-Arc Gallery exploring the embedding of interactive media within an architectural space. Five unique sensor driven media installations produced a range of effects from personalized "windows" out into the city which track visitor gaze to reconfiguring the occupant's image to produce ornamental panels. The structure for the installation was generated by an automated pipeline leveraging an early 3D GAN AI, while the construction diagrams were automatically generated and uploaded to a shared cloud drive for the construction team.

Fuser-Shoe

Commissioned content for Fuser's launch media. Tasked with demonstrating the ability to create physical products with their platform, we developed a custom pipeline to create custom, wearable 3D printed shoes utilizing generative AI models in Fuser's suite with additional proprietary studio geometry algorithms. The pipeline allows users to generate a range of shoe designs while simultaneously ensuring wearability, from sized last models.

ML_CLT

Funded research project at SCI-Arc with support from USFS and BFS. The project developed an ML based layup scheduler in combination with a robotic fabrication platform to produce structurally optimized timber panels from offcuts generated by industrial glu-lam beam production. The layup algorithm allows for a 25% reduction in material while simultaneously creating unique aesthetic features for residential structures.

Semantic Seeker

The multimedia interactive installation allowed gallery visitors to collaborate with multiple AI agents to explore their ideal living space. The platform combined 2D and 3D generative AI models, narrative LLM agents, search agents, and cost-estimation agents to create a multi-dimensional tool for exploring contemporary domestic design.

Friend V1.0–2.0

An interactive media piece in which an AI Agent generates an evolving canvas over the course of the exhibition through conversation and eavesdropping on gallery visitors. The AI agent integrates additional information for its aesthetic decisions through VLM model analysis of streaming webcam feeds of the gallery. Over the course of the installation, multiple "personalities" are deployed to explore the interaction with gallery visitors as well as the aesthetic consequences.

Vast

Vast is an infinitely scalable AI image pipeline specially exploring aesthetics only achievable through the ability of these models to flatten aesthetic domains. The pieces create infinite variation while fluctuating between the geometric and the figural, oscillating between the material and graphic.

His research and practice focuses on the roles of artificial intelligence, platforms and social media impact on design and architecture. He has exhibited his work internationally including at the Centre Pompidou, Pola Annex Ginza, Chicago Biennale, and the Venice Biennale.
